Declarer can see dummy but defenders can't see each other's hands. Signals are a way of using small cards when following suit or discarding to show partner something about your hand.


I like it! I don't like it. Attitude signals can be used throughout the hand, not just on the opening lead.

The attitude signal is defensive technique used to encourage or discourage partner from continuing the lead of a suit.


When following suit to declarer's lead, playing high then low shows an even number of cards in that suit.
