Today’s hand is not an easy one to bid. We’ve got opening strength and some shape, and a good diamond suit. But the auction quickly gets messy.
What should we be thinking about in these situations? How can we know where to place the contract? First, we must evaluate how well our hand goes with partner’s hand.
The best evaluation takes into account all the information you have available, so take a good look the auction and try to deduce which cards of yours will lead to tricks. There’s more to it than just counting your high card points! And remember, in bridge, you can’t make judgments based on a single result.
