    I played it safe. I could see 9 sure tricks so I took them and 9C was good for the overtrick. Congrats to the brave who tried the finesse. I still have to work on that!

      @mrsh Sure, it’s easy when you know where the cards are. I guess if 9 are in the bag, it’s safe to try the finesses because even if you lose them, you still make the contract.

    Surely the 4NT bid from North was ‘asking for aces’. It was coloured blue !!! I answered 5 H for two aces and he LEFT me in 5H ??????? Madness !! Please may someone explain. Thank You.

      You can click any of the bids in the auction to see the meaning. In this case I think you’ll find it was ‘quantitative’. Simply inviting to slam in the same way that 1NT 2NT invites to game. Basically, if the previus bid was 1NT or 2NT or 3NT then a bid of 4NT is quantitative, not ace asking. Hope that helps!
